Oh, how i love pink! I was thrilled to be commissioned to make some pink baby shower cucakes for church- and had to take it one step further, finally trying my hand at some cake pops! I had fun making the little stand for the cake pops, and snapping a bunch of pictures- i am so matchy matchy! I heeard they didn’t last long, so mission accomplished!
Congrats Amy!

This cake was a challenge, and totally worth it in the end. I had fun making the details of the cross, and the green and gold really accented it nicely. It was for a customer’s mother’s 90th birthday celebration, what a milestone!
July 4, 2009

This cake was for the anniversary of my best friend’s in-laws. We traded cake for lunch ( I had steak- i think i got the better end of this deal Amy!! ) and i had lots of fun creating it. I actually found my inspiration on the studio cake site, and it even had the “C” monogram, so it was fate! All edible decorations and flowers, hand painted with food colouring.
Happy Anniversary Isaac and Irene!

This cake was a birthday gift, customized to match the birthday guy’s guitar. We opted to leave the neck off because it was just too much cake! But it still turned out great and he loved it, so i am told
Happy Birthday Ryan!

This cake was very cool, and came out looking better than it did in my head (always a good thing!
) The cake is made up of 6″ 8″ round tiers, on top of a 10″ tier beside a 6″ , and then a 14″ with a 10″ inch in front. Lots of cake!! It was accented with black fondant shooting stars, and a bride/groom silhouette and red carpet completed the Hollywood theme. Very elegant, and very unique. I really enjoyed the challenge and how it turned out!
Congrats Kendra and Bryce!!

I got some new cutters in and was excited to give them a try, so i made use of them in a baby shower gift i was making. The new mom’s favourite colour is purple, and flowers are always a great idea so i decided to try something is saw on the lovely Roxy Cakes site (www.roxycakes.ca) . I used a glass vase and arranges little mini cupcakes over the top like a bouquet. The hydrangea blossoms really made it look authentic, and i loved the result! Next time i think I’ll add some leaves….
Congrats Charlene!! And Welcome baby Neveah

This cake was for the birthday of a friend of mine, and his friend also. Obviously they like NES ( me too!) so it was a fitting theme for a couple geeks!
Happy Birthday Jason and Gavin!

February 17, 2009

This cake was very simple, and very elegant. I love the colour combination of red black and white. The table decorations really accented the cake nicely!
This cake was a partial rental, with the bottom being half vanilla and half chocolate guinness. A great combo! Each slice of cake what black and white so it matched through and through!
Congrats Jackie and Johnny!

This cake was for my daughter’ 2nd birthday celebration in edmonton a couple weeks ago. We had to cancel last years party so i wanted to make up for it with a really great cake. I decided upon a cupcake theme with all sorts of colours, and had so much fun palnning and setting it all up! The cake is made up of a 10″ chocolate cake, 8″ carrot, 6″ lemon, and the giant cupcake is chocolate. All covered in fondant, except the top of the giant cupcake is buttercream with a fondant cherry! I did some chocolate cupcakes on the side for take home, and those matched the giant cupcake (i have an addiction to coordinating!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEMMA!!!

I haven’t done a lot of carved cakes yet, but this one was fun. I used buttercream for the logo so it wasn’t as flawless as i had hoped, but i really think the effect came across nicely! The cake is a coconut vanilla/vanilla filed cake, with a lemon vanilla finger for one person who wasn’t a big coconut fan
January 14, 2009

These cupcakes were too cool, i really loved them and obviously love what they stand for
They are carrot cake cupcakes with little fondant maples leafs on them, embellished with a piped butter cream “eh?” . I know my American friends will get a kick of of them!!
Congrats Jenny!

I don’t do a lot of cookies, but when I got an email requesting a cookie package and cupcakes for a littleoys 3rd Birthday party, i just had to. The theme was blue and yellow, and 18 cookies were for his preschool class, while the cookie pops and cupcakes were for his Birthday party at home. I really like how they turned out, and according to my husband/delivery man, so did the little guy! very polite and super excited for his treats! The cookies were vanilla sugar cookies iced with royal icing and a fondant “3″ , the cupcakes were chocolate topped with vanilla frosting and a fondant star with a #3 on them.
Happy 3rd Birthday Bryant!!

The other was for a graduation of a cadet, and I actually got to meet with him and his girlfriend which was a real treat.

This cake was for a Christmas eve wedding, and was designed by the groom. I really enjoyed the change of pace with this cake and had fun making the appliques for it too! The cake is Madagascar vanilla with chocolate frosting, covered in fondant. The decorations are royal icing. The arrow was made from paper and a lollipop stick. The colours were amazing to work with and I really enjoyed this cake top to bottom!

I REALLY enjoyed making this cake and love how it turned out. The bride and groom had a winter wonderland theme with golds and silvers. Each tier was designed by the bride herself, down to the details and i really have to say she did a great job! I love how it is very modern and yet the colours are very classy. The monogram topped it off perfectly. I am so glad i got a chance to do this style of cake, I can’t wait to do another one!
This cake was a 6″ 10″ and 14″ square made of all chocolate cake with cherry buttercream. It was covered in fondant and the accents are fondant too.

This cake was super fun to do, and i had creative license so that was awesome. Although, sometimes that makes it harder for me because i just can’t decide what cake i want to try out! I have so many ideas from great decorators i have seen online and in books, that it made the decision difficult. In the end i was very pleased with the outcome… i just hope next time i can get to a decision faster!
Thanks to Maisie fantasie for the inspiration.
Happy Birthday Patricia!

This cake was for a good friends wedding rehearsal dinner in edmonton. I wanted to make something that representer her new “family” , and decided to make a cake including her and her fiance, as well as all of their pets. Apparently the pets have never all been that close before, but hey, one can dream!
The couch was styrafoam ( it was being transported all the way to edmonton) and the figures are all fondant/gumpaste. The couch sat on a 9×13 butter rum cake.
Congrats Lindsey and Jason!!
